MOROCCAN HEAT TRADITIONAL MOROCCAN MINT GREEN TEA WITH OUR SECRET SPICE BLEND FEATURING MOMBASA PEPPER. SAYING THIS TEA IS UNLIKE ANYTHING YOU HAVE DRUNK BEFORE IS A HUGH UNDERSTATEMENT. MOMBASA PEPPERS, ALSO KNOWN AS PIRI PIRI PEPPERS ARE CHILI PEPPERS SIMILAR TO CAYENNE, ONLY MUCH, MUCH HOTTER. IN FACT THEY ARE CONSIDERED THE HOTTEST PEPPER IN AFRICA. WE EXPECTED THE SPICE TO BE A SHARP CONTRAST TO THE GREEN TEA AND HERBAL PEPPERMINT BLEND, BUT WERE SURPRISED WHEN WE BEGAN CUPPING OUR FIRST ATTEMPTS AT PERFECTING THIS RECIPE. THE MOMBASA PEPPER ACTUALLY COMPLIMENTS THE MOROCCAN MINT TEA BEAUTIFULLY, ADDING A SWEET, SMOKY ELEMENT TO THE PINHEAD GUNPOWER GREEN TEA AND PEPPERMINT. AND THEN THERE'S THE HEAT... WHICH ADDS A COMPLEXITY TO CRISP GREEN TEA AND NATURALLY COOLING MINT THAT CAN'T BE DESCRIBED BUT MUST BE EXPERIENCED.

BELIEVE US WHEN WE TELL YOU THAT MOROCCAN HEAT CARRIES SOME SERIOUS BURN. EXPERIENCED SPICY FOOD LOVERS WILL TAKE THEIR FIRST SIP AND IMMEDIATELY BEGIN TO BRAG THAT THEY CAN HANDLE THE TEA NO PROBLEM. DO NOT GLOAT SO SOON!! MOMBASA IS A SLY DEVIL. IT WILL NOT BURN YOUR MOUTH IMMEDIATELY. IT IS THE TYPE OF FIRE THAT IGNITES IN YOUR THROAT. THIS THERMAL INVASION IS A PENETRATING HEAT THAT WORKS FROM THE INSIDE OUT. YOUR MOUTH MIGHT NOT YET BE BURNING, BUT YOU WILL BE BREATHING SMOKE OUT YOUR NOSTRILS LIKE A DRAGON. AND THAT IS JUST THE BEGINNING. EACH SIP WILL MAKE YOU BREAK OUT IN A SWEAT A LITTLE MORE. THIS TEA IS SO HOT WE HAD TO MAKE 3 SEPARATE RECIPES EACH WITH ITS OWN LEVEL OF HEAT.

This version is: Moroccan Heat Medium: Fans of spicy food know that more often than not, hot wings, hot sauce and hot peppers are treated more like a novelty than an actual meal. Sure it is fun to see if you can survive eating a “nuclear wing” or ”the devil's hot sauce” but sometimes you actually want to sit and enjoy the food you're eating. That is the philosophy behind Moroccan Heat Medium. Mombasa pepper is unique and delicious, as is the green tea and peppermint. This tea is light on the spice, allowing you to taste the Mombasa without causing spontaneous combustion. Warning! This tea will be considered very hot by people sensitive to spicy foods and hot peppers.

Ingredients: Pinhead gunpowder green tea, herbal peppermint, Mombasa pepper

Caution: Mombasa pepper (African birds eye chili) is very hot! This tea is designed to only be marginally spicy, but will be too hot for anyone sensitive to pepper and hot foods.

Please use caution to prevent getting the hot pepper on your hands or in your eyes.
